About Paramedical Sciences
Navodaya College of Paramedical Sciences was established in the year 2006 to impart and train the eligible and interested students. The Institute offers B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology which is a three and 1/2 year degree course. The college is attached with 911 bedded medical college teaching hospital, Navodaya Medical College Hospitals & Research Centre, Raichur. Para Medical Courses in interdisciplinary medical subjects are becoming extremely significant in Health Care delivery systems. In recent years, there has been a growing need for qualified and well-trained Para Medical personnel who form an essential constituent of the medical profession. To meet the increasing demand for qualified and trained Para Medical personnel.
The objectives of the Para Medical Courses is to ensure the scientific training during study, thus the trainee acquires adequate knowledge and skill in his/her field and he/she shall be able to carry out:
1. Various laboratory tests independently without an error, perform investigative or curative procedures with accuracy and precision as a responsible professional and thereby assist the clinicians in diagnosis and treatment.
2. Manage laboratories or units confidently with adequate knowledge to handle, operate and take care of various equipment, instruments and materials used.
3. Develop initiative and competence to avail self-employment opportunities.
4. Develop expertise to perform various tests and to interpret the results.
5. Fulfill the need for qualified manpower and well-trained paramedical personnel who will contribute a lot to Health care services and Patient care system.
The successful candidates after the period of training will become eligible for appointment as Technicians or Assistants in various departments of Medical / Dental College, Hospitals, Primary Health Centers, Clinical Laboratories at district and taluk level, Nursing Homes and also in other schemes of National Health Programmes. The Para Medical Courses provide great employment opportunities and also ensures the availability of the sufficient number of qualified and trained Para Medical Personnel for the upliftment of a good Health Care System.
